听见国歌要肃立(起立)，否则违法？根据1968年国歌法令，听见国歌时不肃立，是违法的行为。如果执法人员看见有人不尊重国歌，在这项法令之下，有权力展开逮捕行动。
1968年国歌法令第8条文（尊重的标志）：
（1）当在播放或演唱国歌时，无论是完整版或皇家版、简单版或简短版，在场的所有人都应起立以表示敬意。
（2）第（1）款不适用于在新闻或媒体广播。
（3）任何人在任何公共场所，故意地做出不尊重国歌的行为，一旦罪成，可判不超过RM100.00的罚款或不超过一个月的监禁。
（4）就本条而言─
（a）没有正当理由而不遵从第（1）款； 和
（b）在公众眼中会降低国歌声望的任何作为，
表示不尊重。
National Anthem Act 1968 section 8 (Mark of respect)
(1) Whenever the full or Royal version of the National Anthem is played or sung or whenever the abridged or short version is played, all persons present shall stand to attention as a mark of respect.
(2) Subsection (1) does not apply where the National Anthem is played or sung in the course of a broadcast or newsreels as part of such broadcast or newsreels.
(3) Any person who knowingly shows disrespect towards the National Anthem in any public place shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding one hundred ringgit or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding one month.
(4) For the purpose of this section—
(a) the failure to comply with subsection (1) without good and sufficient cause; and
(b) any act or omission which would tend to lower the prestige of the National Anthem in the eyes of the public,
shall constitute a show of disrespect.
